I can’t express how important it is to work on your personal development like you scroll on Instagram and Facebook. Your personal development consist of your physical, mental, and spiritual health. Daily you want to work on these so that you can keep up with your business as it grows.
To work on your physical development you want to workout of course but also eat healthy. Workout at your local gym, go running, do yoga whatever form of workout that you like just get out there or go to your living room and do it. The best advice I can give you is to set a realistic goal. For example, I love to tell myself I will workout 3 times a week however this never happens and the goal has now been moved down to 2 times a week. I don’t always get to workout 2 times a week but it’s more of a realistic goal for me.
However another part of working on personal development is eating healthy and I’m much better in this department. I use Pinterest for healthy meals or snacks that actually taste good ideas. Eating healthy and increasing your veggies is a huge part to staying healthy and not getting sick. And don’t forget that rest and the hours of sleep that you get also factor in as well.
If I push myself too hard, for hours straight I tend to get a headache. The headache comes from lack of eating or fluids because for hours I’m sitting at a laptop and not tending to the needs of my body. So I now take breaks, I may watch 1 episode or listen to music and eat without the laptop in my face.
Your mental development comes into play while you’re sleeping, because that genius brain needs rest just like your body. Those rest breaks also are helping your brain by getting out the house, stopping to clean, or taking a cat nap. Other ways to develop this area is to read. Read articles, books, magazines, whatever will strengthen you at the time, read it.
When it comes to spiritual development for me this means reading the bible and going to church. For you that may mean something different, but whatever it is, dive into it. You are going to need your spirituality to get you through those hard days, for new ideas and directions, and peace.
These are three areas of personal development that you want to work at it daily to ensure that you won’t burnout or get sick.
